You talk.
Saybox types.
Clinical dictation, done entirely on your Mac.
01Dictate into the app you already use
02Change your mind out loud

03Lock the Mac and dictation stops
Cloud.Servers.Accounts.
Speech becomes text on your Mac. Saybox sends nothing to the internet.
Speak naturally.
Saybox writes.
Coming to Mac.
Private by design
Nobody else is listening.
Saybox turns speech into text on the Mac itself; the speech model is inside the app. Your audio and words never reach us, or anyone else, through Saybox. The note goes only where you type it.
Internet connections. Audio is held in memory while it becomes text, and never saved.
Accounts, analytics or crash uploads. Nothing to sign in to. Nothing phoning home.
Is all a pairing code lives. It works once, and it’s kept out of screenshots.
Late, and audio is refused. Old dictation is never typed into whatever is open later.
After you close the Text Box, its text is erased for good.
Of security events for your practice to review. Never a word of what was said.
Hands on the patient
Say it. It’s done.
A few short commands shape the note while you talk. Prefer to dictate every word? Turn them off in Settings.
Starts a new line.
Starts a new paragraph.
Ends the sentence. “The review period” stays a word.
Takes back the last phrase you said.
Types your prepared phrase called “normal exam”. Name your own.
Your iPhone, your mic
Walk the room. Keep the mic.
Saybox Mic turns your iPhone into a wireless microphone for your own Mac, over your local network and nothing else.
- Paired, not exposed. A one-time code, then the same six digits on both screens before a word gets through.
- Stops when you do. Recording ends when the iPhone locks or you switch apps.
- Never sees your text. The iPhone sends audio. The words appear only on your Mac.
- Switch windows safely. Change apps mid-dictation and the words wait in the Saybox Text Box instead of landing in the wrong place.
Straight talk about accuracy.
Speech recognition makes mistakes, and in a clinical note one wrong word can change the meaning: a drug name, a dose, “hyper” for “hypo”. Proofread every note before signing it.
Saybox is still in development. It hasn’t met its accuracy targets yet, and no version is cleared for use with patient information. We’ll keep saying so until that changes.
Check with your clinic’s privacy or security officer before using Saybox with patient information.
